Anvil cover also known as a "die cut rubber pads," is mainly made of imported American polyurethane raw materials and coated on both sides with high-performance pressure-sensitive adhesive monocrystalline silicon or dual-silicon release material for die cutting and stamping. It possesses excellent wear resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, tensile strength, high elasticity, resistance to high pressure loads, high strength, strong shock absorption, and good cushioning properties. Anvil cover, when fully aligned with the rollers, effectively utilizes the superior properties of polyurethane, playing a crucial role in corrugated paper production lines: protecting the cutting blades, improving accuracy during the cutting process, and enhancing cutting efficiency.

Anvil cover is easily damaged during use. Improper use and maintenance often lead to problems such as excessively long replacement intervals and anvil cover displacement and deformation. However, wear and tear is unavoidable during production. Paying attention to some techniques during use can significantly extend the service life.
When replacing an anvil cover for the first time, adjust the distance between the roller and the cover to its initial position. Perform a film-cutting test using waste cardboard, gradually increasing the pressure until the entire sheet of paper is cut. However, be careful not to apply pressure arbitrarily; just enough to cut the paper. The lower the pressure, the longer the anvil cover's lifespan.
Regularly adjusting the position of the anvil cover plate is crucial for ensuring the quality of film cutting and extending its service life. It is recommended to adjust it every 100,000 cuts. There are no directional restrictions on the adjustment position; it can be determined based on wear. The higher the adjustment frequency, the longer the service life of the anvil cover plate and the more cuts it can withstand.
Because new and old anvil cover plates have different thicknesses, after replacing the cover plate, it is essential to check whether the machine's synchronizer is working properly and whether the reducer needs adjustment to avoid errors in the cut cardboard dimensions.
Note that if the thickness of the anvil cover becomes thinner, the die-cut cardboard size will become longer. The die-cutting size is determined by the circumference of the circular die guide roller. The thickness of the anvil cover, which serves as a pad, affects the effective imprinting circumference of the die roller. When the pad becomes thinner, the guide roller needs to rotate more angles to complete one printing, resulting in the cut cardboard becoming longer in the mechanical direction. Sun Hong recommends regularly measuring and replacing worn anvil covers. If a systematic increase in die-cut size is observed, the thickness of the pad should be checked first.
During storage and use, anvil covers should be protected from direct sunlight to avoid affecting their lifespan.
To remove the anvil cover, simply insert a screwdriver into the rubber gasket latch in the groove, pry it up, and remove it.
For installation, clean the groove beforehand to prevent residue from damaging the anvil cover. Install the first cover from the middle of the roller, inserting one end of the anvil cover into the groove, then wrap the other end around the roller to align the two ends and tap it in with a rubber mallet. Continue installing the other covers as needed.
