Maintenance and Precautions of Corrugated Rollers

The single facer machine is the key to the corrugated cardboard production line. The corrugated roller, as the core of the single facer machine, is an important factor in the single facer machine and the entire corrugated paper production line. When the corrugated paper production line is running at high speed, the corrugated rollers are easily worn due to inertial vibration and constant friction of the corrugated cardboard. The quality and width of the base paper will affect the life of the corrugated rollers. Improper operation and inadequate maintenance will accelerate the wear of the corrugated rollers.

Corrugated Roller Maintenance:

• As the "heart" of the single facer machine or even the entire corrugated paper production line, the corrugated roller is generally made of 48CrMoA steel. After medium frequency quenching or nitriding treatment, the hardness can exceed HRC55. The upper and lower corrugated rollers and the pressure roller will resonate during operation. It is recommended to check whether there are any loose screws before starting the machine each time to prevent damage to the roller surface during operation.

• Clean the corrugated rollers every day to remove foreign matter and dust from them. Use a steel brush to scrub them. When cleaning, avoid directly pouring cold water on the corrugated rollers and preheating rollers to prevent deformation of the rollers due to rapid temperature changes. If the corrugated roller is damaged, foreign objects should be removed immediately and the raised parts should be filed flat. (Small dents do not affect the use)

• The single facer machine is produced in a high temperature environment. The upper and lower corrugated rollers and the pressure roller are all steam transmitted. High temperature grease should be added once a month. The gear transmission adopts oil immersion lubrication and the gear oil should also be replaced regularly.

Adjustment of Pressure between Rollers:

The life of the corrugated roller is related to the material and width of the base paper used. For example, using corrugated paper with high sand content, roughness and narrow paper width will cause great wear on the corrugated roller. During operation, the pressure of the cylinder should also be adjusted as the paper width changes. The narrower the width, the lower the pressure.

Clean the paste residue on the lake plate to prevent poor gluing. Use a spray gun to clean it. The partition in the paste tank is adjusted according to the paper width. It is recommended to remove and clean the partition every day. If it is severely worn, it needs to be replaced.

Also note:

• Do not apply pressure to the corrugated roller and the pressure roller when there is no paper to avoid rigid contact between them. If the order is completed or the paper breaks, the pressure should be released immediately.

• The purpose of stopping the machine is to ensure sufficient cooling time to prevent deformation of the corrugated roller and damage to the tungsten carbide layer.

• Be careful not to drop hard objects between the rollers, which will damage the corrugated roller.

• After long-term operation, if the corrugated roller is prone to paper breakage or broken corrugations, it should be replaced in time.
