Operating Principle of Single Facer Machine

The single facer machine is the key equipment in the corrugated cardboard production line. Its working principle is that the corrugated base paper is formed by pressing the upper and lower corrugated roll, and is slurried by the rubber roller. The surface paper and the formed corrugated paper are bonded at the tangent between the pressure roller and the lower corrugated roll to form a double layer corrugated board, and then passed through the traction belt to the double facer machine part to be compositely formed with other single corrugated cardboard and surface paper.


What Are The Main Working Parts of Single Facer Machine?

(1) Upper corrugated roll:

The upper corrugated roll and the lower corrugated roll work together to shape the corrugated paper. The pressure can be adjusted, hot steam is passed through the roller, and the surface is wavy.

(2) Lower corrugated roll:

The lower corrugated roll and the glue roller work together to glue and bond with the inner paper.

The corrugated roll is the "heart" of the single facer machine and is used to complete the extrusion and shaping of corrugated paper to form corrugated. The corrugated roll can be divided into the upper corrugated roll and the lower corrugated roll. Their surfaces all have corrugated teeth. Different teeth shape will shape different sizes of corrugated. All corrugated roll is hollow and are heated by saturated steam input through a rotary joint. The lower corrugated roll is an active roller that is fixed, while the upper corrugated roll is a passive roller. The air pressure or oil pressure can adjust the bite force between the two rollers. Its rotation is completed by biting with the lower corrugated roll.

(3) Glue coating roll: The glue coating roll can also be called the glue roll, which can be used to apply glue to the corrugated peaks. Its surface has concave holes similar to honeycombs, which are more conducive to scraping the glue during operation, and the gap between it and the glue leveling roll and the lower corrugated roll can be adjusted.

(4) Uniform rubber roll: The uniform rubber roll is used to control the thickness of the glue applied and adjust the gap with the glue coating roll. The speed and direction of the uniform rubber roll should be the same as the speed and direction of the glue coating roll. The scraping paddle board will cooperate with the uniform rubber roll to scrape off the glue remaining on the uniform rubber roll after operation. (The scraping paddle board is generally made of wear-resistant materials such as plastic, rubber, and copper plate)

(5) Pressure roll: The pressure roll is used to bond the inner paper and the corrugated paper. The gap with the lower corrugated roll can be adjusted and steam can be passed through it.

The pressure roll with steam can bond the formed and glued corrugated paper with the inner paper or core paper heated by the preheating cylinder in an instant under pressure to form a single sided corrugated board.

(6) Preheating cylinder: It can also be used as a preheating roller, with steam flowing inside, for preheating the paper. Providing corresponding heat to the paper helps to bond and control the moisture content of the paper at the same time, making the moisture of the paper more uniform.
